ATHENS BOYS REMAIN UNBEATEN WITH WIN AT TROY; LADY 'CATS FALL
 

TROY — The unbeaten Athens boys swept the top four spots in a 16-47 win over Troy, while the Lady Wildcats dropped a 26-32 decision here Tuesday afternoon in NTL cross country action at Mt. Pisgah State Park.

BOYS
Athens 16, Troy 47
Senior Matt Gorsline led the defending NTL champion Athens in a sweep of the top four spots in a 16-47 win over Troy to remain unbeaten.

Gorsline clocked in at 18:30, while junior Ethan Denlinger was second in 19:02, senior Kyle Anthony was third in 19:42, and freshman Carter Lewis was fourth in 19:46.

Sophomore Nate Prickitt was sixth for the Wildcats in 20:38, while senior Izaak Hobday was seventh in 20:54, and senior Sander Bertsch was eighth in 21:00.

Freshman Pierce Oldroyd finished 12th for Athens in 24:35, while sophomore Ryan Gorman was 14th in 26:19, and Brendan Jones was 15th in 27:30.

GIRLS
Troy 26, Athens 32

Freshman Sara Bronson finished first, and junior Emma Bronson finished third, but Troy used superior depth to pull out a 26-32 win.

Sara Bronson cTROY — The unbeaten Athens boys swept the top four spots in a 16-47 win over Troy, while the Lady Wildcats dropped a 26-32 decision here Tuesday afternoon in NTL cross country action at Mt. Pisgah State Park.locked in at 21:16 — 12 seconds ahead of Troy’s Alyssa Parks, and Emma Bronson finished in 22:02, but five of the next six finishers were from Troy.

Sophomore Thea Bentley finished sixth for the Lady Wildcats in a time of 24:50, while Cailyn Conklin was 10th in 28:13, sophomore Emily Henderson was 12th in 30:06, and Ruby Kinsman was 13th in 33:01.
