NINE ATHENS GRAPPLERS HONORED FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AS DISTRICT 4 ALL-STARS
 

ATHENS — The Athens varsity wrestling team had nine members earn District 4 All-Academic team honors, including six to make the first team, which requires a 3.8 or higher grade-point average.

Senior Zach Stafursky, juniors Gavin Bradley and Karter Rude, and sophomore Chris Bathgate each had 4.0 GPAs, while sophomore Jake Courtney registered a 3.9 GPA, and junior Kaden Setzer carried a 3.8 GPA to earn first-team honors.

Senior Kyler Setzer qualified for second-team honors with a 3.6 GPA, and freshmen Josh Courtney (3.1 GPA) and Mason Vanderpool (3.0) earned honorable mention recognition.
