ATHENS CRUISES TO 53-23 WIN OVER WILLIAMSON
 

ATHENS — Chris Mitchell and Carson Smith led a balanced Athens scoring attack in a 53-23 win over Williamson here Friday night in NTL junior varsity boys basketball action.

Mitchell scored six points in the first quarter, and Smith added four to help Athens to a 12-4 lead after the first eight minutes.

Seven different Wildcats scored in a 19-8 second-quarter run that pushed the lead to 31-12 at the half.

Smith scored nine points in the second half, and Mitchell added seven as the Wildcats added to their lead.

Mitchell led Athens with 15 points, and Smith added 13 points as all nine Wildcats put their name in the scoring column.

Connor Mosher and Ryan Thompson scored five points apiece in the win, while Lucas Kraft and Davin Spencer had four points apiece, Matt Aquilio added three points, and Korey Miller and Nicholas Jacob chipped in with two points each.

Kaufman led Williamson with 11 points.

Athens returns to action tonight at North Penn-Liberty.
