GORSLINE CLOSES CAREER AT STATES; BRONSONS GAIN EXPERIENCE FOR NEXT YEAR

HERSHEY — Athens senior Matt Gorsline finished up his career at the PIAA Cross-country Championships on Saturday, while Sara and Emma Bronson gained experience for next season.

Gorsline (18:28.1) was 142nd overall in the Class AA boys’ race. He had a strong finish — he was 161st at the 4,000-meter mark, so in the final thousand meters he improved 19 spots.

Freshman Sara Bronson (21:39.3) was 99th overall. She went out hard, sitting 46th at the mile mark, but fell back running those famous Hershey hills during the middle portion of the race, running 82nd at the 2-mile.

Emma Bronson, a junior, finished 115th in 21:53.2. She was 70th at the mile, and 95th at the 2-mile.

District IV did well in both Class AA races. For the girls, there were four medalists from the district, while Danville took fourth and Lewisburg was ninth.

On the boys’ side, Lewisburg won the team title by 20 points with four medalists.
