ATHENS JVs SHUTS OUT NP-L IN SECOND HALF OF 25-12 WIN
 

LIBERTY — Athens held North Penn-Liberty scoreless in the second half to pull away for a 25-12 win here Wednesday night in NTL junior varsity girls basketball action.

The teams played to a 6-6 draw in the first quarter, but Mya Thompson scored six points in the second quarter to help Athens to a 14-12 halftime lead.

Six different Lady Wildcats put their name in the scoring column in the second half, outscoring NP-L after the break.

Thompson led Athens with 10 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and two blocked shots, while Izzy Davis had four points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and one blocked shot, and Sara Bronson had four points, eight rebounds, and six steals.

Ella Coyle added three rebounds, five steals, and one blocked shot in the win, while Ravyn Glisson had three rebounds and two assists, and Savannah Persun had three boards.

Athens returns to action Thursday at Towanda.
